My Passion for Photography
My name is Young Otter Woman, I am passionate about capturing the beauty and essence of every subject I photograph. I am a skilled photographer and have years of experience in the field. I am committed to providing you and future generations with the highest quality work and a unique experience.
My passion for photography started in 2001 during a geology field trip to Idaho, with Macomb Community College. The image I captured one evening was colour film, so I had no way of knowing what I had captured until I returned home to Michigan two weeks later. Once they were developed and I reviewed my images from that adventure. There to my suprise was a gem in the pile.
I was at the time starting an educational path, not for photography but for elementary education. When I spoke to some classmates and realized that you could do photography as profession and there were classes just for that! Wow, I left that math class and marched across the campus and found the building that housed these amazing art classes, I was hooked and began researching how to enter the program and where.
After finding my way I enrolled and began a wonderful artistic journey. 4 Associate Degrees later. I moved back to Manitoulin Island in 2008 to regain some roots. Eventually got divorced, had my own a little one who kept me focused on other things for a few years. I'm finally back, finding those passions and enjoying relearning my craft.
